News anchor Ananya Dutta has recently left Hindustan Times and joined HOOK Global. She is now taking charge as Senior News Editor & Anchor at HOOK Global. Before this, Ananya worked at Hindustan Times, and prior to that she was an anchor at WION. Her journey so far, from international news to digital journalism, has passed through several important milestones.
Ananya Dutta began her career with WION in 2019, after completing her studies at the Asian College of Journalism. She started out as a writer there, but soon got the opportunity to anchor as well. Gradually, she became part of prime-time shows, geopolitical coverage, and election programmes.
After spending more than five years at WION, Ananya joined Hindustan Times in January 2025. There, she focused on digital journalism and launched several new digital shows, or IPs. During this time, she handled everything from news research and script writing to selecting the right experts and overseeing production.
Having recently left Hindustan Times, Ananya has now made a fresh start with HOOK Global, where she has taken on the role of Senior News Editor & Anchor.
In this new role, her work will not be limited to writing news or anchoring. She will also play an important part in setting the newsroom’s editorial direction and taking news content forward with new ideas.
Ananya says her start at HOOK Global is giving her a chance to learn and understand new challenges. She wants to contribute to building a newsroom that is curious about news from around the world, experiments with new approaches in journalism, and creates content keeping audience needs in mind.
From writing and anchoring at WION to building digital shows at Hindustan Times, and now taking on a new responsibility at HOOK Global, Ananya Dutta’s career has kept moving forward. It remains to be seen what new opportunities her next chapter at HOOK Global brings.
